Jack, believe it or not its Duplicolor engine paint. Low Gloss Black. The blower motor is Duplicolor High Gloss. Back when I first sprayed it I used the same thing but it looked really snotty after sitting outside through the winter with a tarp over the front of the car. The dampness ruined the rattle can paint.
I planned on doing it over with the Hot Rod Black this time but the cold temps set in and I didnt want to paint it with a gun in the garage because both cars are in there and I didnt want to deal with all the over spray. I took a shortcut and used the Duplicolor again. Am I going to regret it down the road ? Maybe. I used the same stuff on my tie rods and adjuster sleeves and they are already showing some rust and need to be redone. Im just hoping the fact the car will be in a heated garage when its finished will make the difference and its going to last.
Time will tell.

BTW, I stripped the paint off twice before I got a decent finish. No primer. I used this stripper made by Klean strip. Safe for plastic but I could only buy it at PepBoys. I have to say, it works really well and being an aerosol its really easy to put on.

Thanks Mich,
Dupicolor may have a few different levels of sheen. I'll find the can in the garage and post what number I used. The stuff I used is almost too chalky. It still doesn't look bad, but not the traditional GM semi-gloss black that I was hoping for.

Thanks for the link to the aerosol stripper for plastic...that's useful.

This is the one Ive been using Jack. I tried a few different brands and also the Duplicolor Ford Semi Gloss Black and I didnt like any of them. For a quick job its just about the right gloss. I also used it on the radiator shroud on my 81. I just hope it doesnt flatten out over time.

I love that Duplicolor Engine Enamel with Ceramic. Just don't shoot it in high humidity. It will blush like you've never seen. Ask me how I know. Gloss Black-->Grey.

So can you offer some insight on removing the heater box? I watched the g body garage video. Do I need to remove the dash? Do I need to take the fender off? I have that kit you have and the firsr thing it says is that you need to havevthe motor out..

It's a lot easier with the engine out. Disconnect the heater hoses and fan wiring. You have to take the stainless wiper trim and air intake grille off. Remove maybe 6 bolts around the top, then take the top off and pull the heater core and A/C evaporator out. Then there are about 14 bolts that go around the box on the firewall. If I recall correctly, the whole thing pulls off with just a little help form a putty knife to brake the remains of the seal.
