G body modifications

120°F In the Shade here in Phoenix in the summer, AC is a must have. Mine is all there and working. I had to do some mods when I went to the Serpentine belt drive.
One of the stipulations when I was looking for my Regal project was it still had to have the AC in place and around here trying to find a unmolested Gbody that does't have a half *ss SBC install and all the AC stuff missing is no easy feat.
What I never understood is if you are removing a SBC 305 and installing a 350 SBC it bolts right back on.

I can't believe how small that engine looks in there.

That looks better than 99% of the jobs out there. Are you putting the inner fenders back in?
Thanks! Yeah, the inner fenders have been smoothed, plastic welded, and bodyworked. They still need to be painted, but I want to test fit the LS with turbo piping before they get bolted back in. They should look pretty trick all smoothed out with fancy hardware.

i went with OPG,but for the price i shouldnt have had to add the nipple for the heater motor and etc. i did alot of modifying to this piece IMG_0849.JPG

So why didnt you use a GM heater box? I found out years ago that OPGI way overcharges for parts, the same with Year One, for stuff you can get at a regular parts store. This was before rockauto...

the very few G bodys left around here are all AC cars,in fact all the junk yards have closed up.so i ordered the cover through OPG just to keep the project moving forward thinking it would be a quick install,to my surprise it was the biggest disaster ive ever created

My A/C is currently gone but I would like to reinstall it. The original V6 A/C system was blown before I did my V8 swap.

I have a factory a/c box all new parts with a big block olds and I'm running a serpentine system made of mid 90's chevy parts the compressor is a pancake style one and the manifold line from a 92 Camaro condenser,Evap core are just new replacements the dryer I had to look through a book to find one clocked right for my application run 134a refrigerant works really well

my ac worked but was warm when I got my car in 2014. The 350 Buick is a 3.8 + two cylinders, so all the brackets bolt up. I do need to fix the hole in my box that was made when the motor mount broke and the 350 got friendly with the box. plus it needs converted to r134.
