around a year ago, someone had posted a video of a white cutty with a T/A shaker on it... once I get "the guts to cut", I plan on putting one on the regal. 8)

If I remember correctly, he did a manual swap on it. As well as fabbing that shaker hood (and it's functional too). Hers' an in car video of it:

Thanks for the link/kind words guys. I bought the fiberglass portion of the shaker shortly after buying the car back in 1998 and it was something I always wanted to do - I always loved T/A's and thought the shaker would work well with the Monte. There were two general rules when I decided to go ahead with the project - it had to be a functional air intake (unlike '77+ shakers which were sealed off from the factory) and actually be mounted to the air breather (many guys mount them to the hood after intake mods).

I never had the guts to actually try it until I had a spare hood to play with from an '87 SS parts car in 2004. I never really gave it much thought if others may or may not like it and actually expected most to hate it for the reason mentioned above, because "it's a Pontiac thing" :) But hey, GM shared between divisions (heck, even the infamous "Chevy" Rally wheel was used on Pontiacs), so why can't we? :D

Surprisingly, most folks do seem to like it, even T/A guys! 8) IMHO, it suits the body lines very well and if you didn't know any better, I personally think it could be mistaken for being "factory", which is kind of a goal of mine when it comes to the car in general - building the car the way I think GM could have back in the day. It's by far my favorite visual modification and it makes the car very unique - I know I'll probably never run into another Monte "just like mine" :)

Yea I woulda thought that would be the main reason someone wouldnt like it is that its not stock but im not worried about that and when the 455 olds goes in im sure im gonna get alot of people saying its not original but I dont care. The shaker hood is something I always loved and seeing your monte just makes me wanna do it more.

85_SS's car is sweet.

I always loved the shaker hood on his Monte.

Remind's me of the Canadian Beaumont's, half Chevy half Pontiac

And with him being from Canada it fits perfectly!

That's actually exactly what I was thinking of with the Chevy rally wheels being used on a Pontiac!

Never thought of it that way - I guess I have a good excuse now :D
