Does anyone else actually *use* this term or is this just some usual urban dictionary fiction?

http://fr.urbandictionary.com/define.ph ... id=7461048

The G-Body Shuffle is a term used to describe a characteristic of the 1978-1987 general motors G platform vehicles. (monte carlo, grand prix, cutlass, regal ,el camino ,malibu) In which upon a hard launch with enough power the vehicle swerves or dips to one side from unequal torque transfer. This is due to the triangulated 4-link suspension. the term is commonly used among Drag race folks. Note: the 1987 regal GNX did not have this problem as it had a ladder bar/ panhard bar setup
racer one: Yo mayne you see that cutlass murder that mustang? ****er launched hard. looked kinda funny though.

racer two: yeh bruh thass the g body shuffle. my grand prix does the same thang.

and is this really any different from any other old GM RWD when you give it some power. Its gonna twist and slide a bit? amirite?

I can also honestly say I've never said "yo mayne" unless I was talking about the state in New England.

Personally I don't think it is worse or different then any other factory RWD vehicle of the era that wasn't built with performance in mind. Except for the GN,GNX, SS Monte, Hurst/Olds the Gbody was not a factory minded performance platform. Like any other vehicle if you just slap a High(er) power plant under the hood and do nothing to the rest of the suspension, brakes, etc you will get less than optimal results.
Only place I've ever heard that term openly used is TV(Hollywooder's)....

Ive heard it used alot at the track years back around me. But not so much lately. My wagon did the shuffle fixed with a single drag bag.

First time i ever heard it was on the street outlaws show. and my car has never done anything like that so im not sure what it is to be honest.

After looking back through my videos, my Malibu did like to push to the side after launching. There's not a lot of suspension travel in the front and it's not real high powered so it doesn't twist too bad. However right after what little twisting it does it tends to push the car sideways a tad. You can see here what i'm referring too.

 Judging from the "lingo" used here I would say the majority of people that use that term have an I.Q. of roughly 48 which is why alot of people have never heard it used but what do I know I finished school.

heard about it in this last week's Outlaw show... For now my GP launches ok if I could learn to launch without slipping the clutch! 😳

I had my frame out and it did not flex as much as the one in the video does. Not to say they don't or that they are rigid frames just I think quality from GM varied greatly over the course of production. Also the frame and body are designed to work together for overall rigidity and many people do not inspect, replace, repair the body mounts which will cause severe flex in the car. I helped redo a friend of mine's Regal and when we took it apart only two body mounts were still intact. After replacing and repairing the frame , body and using urethane mounts the car handled totally different. My friends Regal after would "twist" longitudinally slightly on launch, but not shuffle side to side. Again we did redo suspension with new bushings, springs and boxed LCA and UCA and it had front and rear anti-sway bars.

I would still rather start with our frames then any vehicle with Uni-body construction.
