gauge cluster ground straps/ headlight output ?

did gm attach ground straps from the gauge cluster circuit board bolts to a direct chassis ground? where would they have attached?
I will be pulling my cluster housing apart this weekend and I know for a fact my dash has been apart before and it does not have them.

also will running a relay with direct 12v to headlights help the output at all on the single 78-81 style sealed bulbs? I know it is a common upgrade on newer gm products. just not sure how well it would help on older cars.

also does anyone make a retro fit housing that allows newer style bulbs that does not look like a ricer product?

I use Hella conversion lenses and they are not like the plastic junk you get on ebay. I have 4 conversion lenses with 2 bi-xenon bulbs and 2 hid bulbs. These cars never had good grounds so I have upgraded the grounds to the body and to the frame.

I am guessing for 78-81 malibu I would use the 7x 6 lenses? uprading and adding a few under hood ground straps is on the list. my dad also suggested to tie the rear light grounds to the chassis too
