Another 1980 Malibu. Not so shiny.

Started as a $150 castoff with a 200 V6, 3-speed manual and cinderblock print on the original hood and windshield. When I bought it, the kid handed over grandma's title from 1980.

I cut out the floor 'hump' and sold it on EBay for $75. It went through several engines and transmissions. First, a 305 with a 1988 F-body T-5. Then a 350 with a Tremec. Then a 400 SBC with a better installation of the Tremec. Still a work in progress.

Still have a long way to go. Coming soon - GN axle with a 30-spline Auburn, 3.73s and LS1 brakes.

I don't know if you guys realize this, but that first pic is GP403's car. I didn't know it was a manual trans conversion. Not only that, but the motor is an Olds 403- not the easiest thing to find a manual trans flywheel for. I mean, a super sweet stock looking Grand Prix, with a 403 4 speed. What a sleeper. I think he just used that pic as an example, but I want to nominate him for GBOTM, If that's OK?

Absolutely beautiful. Well done!

Very nice car! It looks factory. Is that an '81 & newer instrument panel in the car? It looks like the newer I/P with the long vent panel on the passenger side of the dash.
