Actually I had no intention of everyone whipping out the micrometers and getting into arguments about it. I basically was considering actual wheel width but hey this is fun too.
I am looking at putting 315’s on my notched frame/fender rolled El Camino. What backset, etc did you use on the wheels? I want to use the correct size wheels so I don’t have to run spacers or anything315/35/ R17 on 17x 11.5" View attachment 75548 View attachment 75549
Get some! I've never seen your Cutlass on anything but those steel wheels. Post it up some time.Sorry, I don't have pics of my car on the 22x11s
If I remember correctly he's using a C4 Corvette IRS rear end on his car, so I don't know if you can use his backspacing with a standard live-axel rear.I am looking at putting 315’s on my notched frame/fender rolled El Camino. Thanks, I bought the tool to measure everything it just hasn’t arrived yet. Mine has a standard width Ford 9” rear end with the UMI frame notch kit.Get some! I've never seen your Cutlass on anything but those steel wheels. Post it up some time.

Ok, thanks. Great job, it looks sweet! The Specs on mine will not probably work for you. I have an independent rear end from a C4 Vette fabricated into my Regal. I do not have any frame notch at all. I am running GNX flares and the IRS is wider flange to flange then a std Gbody rearend, so my tires go outward to get the 11.5" wide rim in car. So if you used my specs the rims/tires would end up outside of your sheet metal.
Also because my tires move straight up and down without angular deflection of a solid rearend I can run tighter clearances to body and frame.
