Glove box latch stuck on 83 Monte Carlo

Hey

The other day I had the car out and every time I closed the glove box the latch would become harder and harder to turn. It would move slightly to the right and after some jiggling I could get it to move and open the glovebox. It seems to have seized completely now, I can just get it to turn slightly to the right but not enough to actually open the damn thing. Any help would be appreciated as my CDs are all in there.

Took a look at it today, seemed it magically repaired its self so that It needed a key to be opened, this was excellent until the thing completely broke after being opened 3 times. Now the cylinder requires a key to turn but it doesn't engage and open the glovebox. Any ideas on how I can get it open so I can replace the cylinder or try to repair it myself?
