1st problem: There is almost no space between my valve covers and stud on alternator for charging cable.
2nd problem: Upper coolant hose routing, wants to lay on alternator.

Has anyone else had these kinds of problems installing http://www.summitracing.com/parts/NAL-12497698/
Any help or input would be greatly appreciated. I can post pics of the problems if it will help.

for the upper rad hose I used one from a GMC 5/7 truck, for the alternator clearance issue can you index the alternator to give you some clearance?

What do you mean by "index" the alternator? clock it over a position? Do you have a part# on the upper hose? I will be using a mechanical clutch fan for a while so I will need to clear that too.

Undo the 4 bolts holding the case halves together and rotate the housing until you have clearance.

It's a 1999 GMC C1500 Suburban with a 5.7. It's too long but I just trimmed on the engine side til it fit. I also used a thermostat housing with a 45º neck.

I was thinking the same thing about clocking alternator over but then I won't be able to use the brace for alternator

I don't run the brace.

Okay I clocked the alternator over and now I have much more clearance. Thanks for the help. As far as the braces...do you use the one for a/c compressor? I am gonna grab the upper hose tomorrow and see if it works out.

Hey the upper radiator hose, how does it route? You don't have any pics do you?
