Okay I clocked the alternator over and now I have much more clearance. Thanks for the help. As far as the braces...do you use the one for a/c compressor? I am gonna grab the upper hose tomorrow and see if it works out.

My setup is slightly different being it's installed on an Olds engine but I made a brace similar to what PontiacGP has in his picture that runs from the A/C bracket over to the alternator bracket. I also have a brace that runs from the back if the A/C bracket to the engine block.

When I put the belt on and let the tensioner loose I could still see the A/C bracket flex forward so I'm going to make a brace that runs from the back of the A/C bracket to one of the exhaust bolts to counter act this.

The alternator or bracket didn't move at all.

Hey Andrew, what did you do to your water pump for it to work in reverse?

I had to clock my alternator also, the rear brace fits now.
I also got the rear brace for the AC compressor to the RT. manifold to fit by using some washers to shim it to fit.
Thanks for the tip on the Suburban upper hose, pontiacgp I picked one up today.

I have the same serp setup on my engine. Only issue I have is getting the drivers valve cover off. And I have aluminum heads and I couldn't use all the mounting holes they did not line up. But summit insured me this was ok.
