The answer you want is yes, Elgin is good stuff, they are OE suppliers to GM for decades and supply the summit, trick flow and other not super name brand cam and valvetrain parts. They are one of the few cam grinders and are based out of Elgin Illinois.

The answer everyone else is saying, valvetrain parts won't fix a scored crank or bearings on a $1500 rusty burban
 
All he needs is a couple of pushrods and even with that didnt he already replace the bent ones??

I think somewhere on pages 78 to 99 he said he changed all the pushrods....sorry I could not narrow it down any better...:popcorn:
 
Did yall miss the part in the other thread where I said the engine is coming out for a rebuild?
 
And I distinctly remember someone saying the stock pushrods in the 454s much past the early 70s were small and liked to bend a lot...

I guess I missed that. To be fair though, there was a lot going on over there. Maybe it needs a table of contents or chapters or something.

Maybe a mod should merge the threads. I feel like the other one is being cheated out of valuable post count.
