GOOD HEI DISTRIBUTOR '???

I'm looking at buying a HEI distributor for a sbc 406 and was wondering how makes a good working one these days that are made in the USA I was thinking msd 8365 but I think they are made overseas now?Thanks

DUI has been the best for me.

Not gonna lie the eBay 50 dollar specials are actually very good.

That being said I run an MSD in the Malibu and a DUI in the Olds.

I aint never had a problem with a GM one. But most of the time after the cost of refurbishing one you might as well buy new.

Does the Dui dizzy come with a melonized gear for use with a hyd roller camshaft

Mine didn't, but they sell 1 for extra. The dui dis. Has a custom advance curve. You just tell them what you have. My car went from a pita to drive( worn gm dis./holley 850 on a mild 355 lol PO decisions). I dropped the dui and 750 holley street demon(holleys version of a thermoquad?) It was a complete different car. No more lazy throttle(650 tbh would've been even better) i went from 8 mpg to 15mpg. Was able to run 36 d of timing, and it would fire right up everytime. DUI was a tremendous amount of help getting it all squared away. The only downside is it took 2 months to get the dui but quality was top notch. Ive never ran an msd but cant see how its better then the dui.

I have MSD in the Monte but for my Regal I have an Ebay one and it works great and the cap and rotor are well made with brass terminals.
I did change to a DUI coil and module for piece of mind but I feel the distributor itself is well made.
Also I have sold about a dozen of those Ebay SBC distributors and not once has someone told me they had an issue with one.

Perhaps, but the quality of a vintage OEM part is probably better than what you can buy now.
