Good for you. 🙂 I hate to rain but I hope you have another carrier that 2.41 gear set is on a series 2 and 3.23 takes a series 3 carrier, however I believe you can buy a ring spacer for propper fitment.

In order to run a 3.23 and numerically higher gear on a3.08 and numerically lower carrier you either need to buy a "thick" gear or use a spacer. This is the one I had used.

i have 241 ok look these is what happend i went to a local shop and asked the guy if he had used gears for sale and he said'' yes''. then he said what gears do you have now and i said 241. the guy said no you don't i said yes i do well we went back and forth for a min. then i said look if i don't ill give you $80 for those gears and if i do you'll give them to me free he said ok. he took a look and said there yours. and thats how i got them free!!

Why was he in such disbelief about 241s?

Maybe cuz he thought you didn't know what you were talking about... little did he know you knew...dumb b*st*rd Seems to happen alot even to me, I called a trans shop and asked them how much to rebuild my 2004r CZF code trans and he told me he could just swap one off the shelf. I told him no cuz i wanted mine rebuilt and i wanted the "performance" govenor and valve body. He proceeded to tell me how they are all the same and that if i wanted he could build me a hipo 700r4, AGAIN i insisted on how the 2004r is just as strong if properly built AND that its a bolt in for my GP...Well after 20mins or so on ranting on how i should go with a 700r4 i hung up.. Sorry for ranting

I have also used that ring gear spacer. My gears came with a 3 series carrier but found out it was a 7 5/8" gear set and carrier. I already had a 7.5" No Slip, which does NOT fit in the 7 5/8" carrier. I may get new carrier bearings for it, a 7 5/8" Lock Right 26 spline if this one bakes. I already broke a chunk of it off, where the C clip goes through. Dam Olds V8 torque 😀 .
