Got impatient and wanted to drive

Skippy, besides your intended reason for posted, the best damn thing you can do for a new fiberglass hood is bolt it on & get it hot from engine heat & sunlight with it's uv rays several times before you do much bodywork. You'll have a much more stable product to work with.

Actually it is the stock hood, I welded a steel cowl on and cut out the underside. Hood had some damage right in the middle so for the price I thought it wouldn’t hurt to try. Turned out prettied good. The blocking is more for a few dings on the outer sides of the hood. I will see how it holds up, if gives me grief down the road then I will get a glass one. Thanks for the advice though for future [emoji106]

Some of my handmade metalwork gets mistaken for fiberglass all the time, so whoops.😕 Thought the transition from hood to scoop was a little straight for a production fiberglass. Looks nice. At any rate real steel is cool & not something any idiot can do. Been driving mine around with raw steel just to drive it,so I know how you feel there,

Did you have real epoxy to use as a base on top of your metalwork or just spray can stuff. I can say from experience the rattle can stuff can look great initially , but fail later.

Thanks, it is definitely tricky to do, i am glad it turned out the way it did as i wanted something that was a little different. Just to get it on the road i used rattle can so there is something on it. I am going strip and spray the whole hood properly over the winter.....i hope lol.....maybe even the whole car if all works out.
