Do you have a full 121 gigawatts going to the Flux Capacitor?

i don't know if you checked your gas today for separation but i doubt it separated. E87 has anywhere between 70-87% alcohol in it. alcohol will keep the water in suspension. there is an alcohol/fuel test vial that the small engine repair guys use to test fuel. but it only tests for water and alcohol.
i too am wondering if your pick-up coil is bad. the wires will wear from the constant flexing caused by the vacuum advance. if you confirm you have no spark during a "no start" episode, pop off the dist cap but keep the wiring hooked up, turn the key on, and using a test light connected to power, touch it to the pick-up connector at the module. this will trick the module in to firing the coil.

I think the distributor is newish (I didn't re-read the thread) so I don't think it is pickup coil wiring but that is always worth checking. Still wondering if he put the gas back in it.

The old gas looks fine but not very strong smelling compared to the 5 gallons of QT gas I poured in last night. Don't think gas is my issue. I pulled the distributor out to take back to O'Reilleys (Accel). I put in a Summit brand HEI I had in the Salon. It started and I let it idle about 30 minutes in the driveway. It does have a slight miss now. The counterweight system in the Summit HEI is very sloppy compared to the Accel unit. I figured this out last year chasing a miss and erratic idle after blipping the throttle. The only past experiences I've had with pick up coils is once they're dead, they're dead. This was on two different distributors from my past mechanic experience. Not saying this is what all do, just what I've experienced. I think I've replaced more modules than anything though. Getting ready to take off to Lowes so we'll see what happens I guess

Accel.......Ug I wont you anything they make at all!!!!!!!!

Glad it seems to be working

sweet hope it is fixed

I have always had issues with Accel products the short time I used them.
