Grandpa Car: 1979 Cutlass Thread

. Not sure what it came out of but the TH350 is a long tail version. Any guesses as to the original application?

Could be an f body or full size car.

On a side note, if you find an 8.5 rear end, you can use the stock driveshaft from certain f body cars (mid 70's ish) and not have to have one custom made to use the long tail 350 in the cutlass 8) . (that's what's in my Malibu, long tail thm350, 8.5 rear, Camaro shaft with conversion joints)

All good info. That guy"s 403 ad is still up but I can't get a response. Lame.

Update-ish...
I've been trying to focus on another project over the last few months. Part of my strategy is to keep this parked so I don't get distracted with all the little things I want to do. It really doesn't need anything at this point. Since I was at the yard for 1/2-off sale last weekend I broke down and snagged a fuel door from a 3rd gen Camaro. It's a straight bolt-on replacement with the advantage of staying in the down position. Helps keep the pump monkeys from messing up my paint while they're trying to figure out how to hold the stock one down

Car is looking great. The only thing I would change is add some white letter tires. Would make it look a little more sporty. Love it though... Here is a 79 rendering I did for a guy on here I believe. I did a few different versions. Two are below.

Thanks, that's just what I did a couple pages back.

The renderings look good.

Thanks much. It's not really unmolested but still pretty close to stock. Honestly, it's hard to resist messing with it. This site gives me too many ideas.

I love this car. It reminds me of my old 78. Those wheels really look good on it. Getting ready for a transmission swap? Overdrive?
