It was likely some concept car /design study car like this.

Here is Briggs and Stratton concept from 1980 with very similar door handles.

I suppose if one was close to Detroit and had time to dig thru GM archives you could find it. Too bad it ended up in the bone yard.

That's really interesting and I think you're probably right. That door handle looks exactly like what would be used on the doors I received. Even the finger pocket looks right. Makes me wonder how it wound up in Desert Valley's boneyard. Thanks!
