Hello all, I just joined the forum. I have had my 1979 Grand Am for a few months now. It is a 301 4sp w/ac. The body is decent, interior is shot, frame and floors good. Handles great, brakes suck. I think it's a good start. Got some plans and a low budget. I got some rear disc from a 99 Fbody for the first mechanical upgrade. I have found a lot of great info on here. I'm glad I joined.

welcome to the site! factory 4 spd, or has a previous owner swapped it in? as for the brakes, you're off to a good start, consider the front blazer brake upgrade as well(great bang for the buck mod). steering, go the cherokee or astrovan shaft, everyone swears by them!
