I have a chance to pick up some wheels off a 04 GTO they are 18":
Falken-Torque5.jpg

The guy selling them doesn't know the backspacing, offset etc etc. researched the bolt pattern and they are 5x120 so these share the same bolt pattern as my car right? Other than that does anybody know? Please help 😀

I will assume these are in the range of 18"x8" or 18"x9" rims.

A G-body has trouble with anything much larger than 4.5" backspacing (BS).
These GTO rims probably have close to 6.5" or 7" BS

You will need to run massive adaptors, 2.5", to make up the difference. And doing so, you will need to beef up your studs, and then never drive hard.

Adaptors that size will run you about $200 for a set of 4. About $280-$300 if you're in Canada
Tires for your 18s will run you into $600 - $700 for that size of wheel.

You could also have your rear frame section notched down, to open up some space, and give you more BS. I don't know how much a shop charges to do that.

... in my opinion, the money you're saving from your "deal" will be quickly be used up, and surpassed, from the modifications you will need to make to fit the wheels.

So that's a no?? 😢 Damn

Sorry to piss on your parade..I'm with Khan on this one......NIce deal but get back to the basics.Nothing wrong with old skool Cragers or Weld Drag Lites ..JMO though 😀

Well... i have some Centerline lookalike's that are 15's7 in front and 15X10 rears

But they won't fit either... 🙁
Besides i am completing my front suspension rebuild using Hotchkis coils and doing a C5 rotor upgrade:

Had to post pics..

That front suspension looks great as is.....NIce looking wheels also........YOU probably have too much back space for them...I think 5 1/2 is as far as you can go...

Thanks! As for the fake Centerlines they came off a 69 Camaro and the rears stuck out  Not the look i want for my Pontiac.....My car originally had genuine Centerlines when my friend picked it up and it looked badass. The rears were 15x8 though and they didn't stick out at all.

where did you manage to get new lower control arms and how much did they cost you?

They are my original control arms, Just sandblasted and powder coated silver by a buddy of mine. He also powder coated the ZQ8 spindles black. BTW the springs in that pic are not the Hotchkis ones i have for it now. They are some f-body springs i bought, but they dropped my car about 3". Just trying to find a rim and tire combo that will clear my brake upgrade and determine my final stance. And maybe test out all these "upgrades" 8)

what size are your rotors?

what size of rim do you need to fit over them?

are you on a budget? Is that why you're looking at used wheels?

if you're not on a budget, there are some nice combo's out there for your setup

I need at least 17in rim to clear the brakes up front. My whole car has been built on budget so far. That's probably why it's taking forever 😀 I may have to save my pennies to buy some new wheels. I haven't decided on the final paint and wheels so that's why im trying to experiment.
