Akron, Oh.
Has anyone installed their own h or x pipe? How difficult was it? Any tips? I called around for someone to put in a header back system and they quoted me at around 500-600 bucks, my money won't allow for that. And to add, is there anyone on here who has true duals with catalytic converters?

I have true duels with headman headers, 2.5 SS pipes, magnaflow SS spun cats and mufflers...if that quote you got includes the materials then it's not a bad quote

Really? Yeah it's all materials included. Maybe I'm just cheap. Anyone else?

I had my system done from the headers back on my '90 454 ss and it ran me $400. Of course I provided the magnaflow mufflers, xpipe, cats, and tips.

In my area its $350 everywhere for true duals from header or manifold back with flowmasters and chrome tips or in still kickin my self in the *ss for paying $250 true dual but with glasspacks :puke: my delta 88 now sounds like a pickup truck...

See,$ 350.00 I can work with. But 600? Ascates, was that the total, or just for labor?

Duals from the manifolds to the back, with cheapo glasspacks and chrome tips. $800 up here. 🙁

You can get a complete header back X-pipe system from Pypes in stainless for about $400 and it's arguably better than an H-pipe. As long as you have a good place to do it, install isn't any harder than what you would think it would be.

I see that you live in Akron, Ohio! i myself live south of Medina, Ohio and im getting custom mandrel bent 2.250 aluminized exhaust this coming Monday. $200.00 installed with H pipe. Im providing the mufflers and the tips. Guy in Ashland has been recommended by a buddy of mine who has used him for a $30,000 65 Ford Falcon and says he does TOP NOTCH work.
