Good to know. Thanks

I was going to use this to paint the trunk.

What do you think??

Rustoleum is the commonly found brand in hammertone paint. However, Hammerite, which is a British brand is a good product, but not easily found.

Why not paint the trunk with spatter paint? That stuff is pretty durable and was used in trunks of older cars. I'm sure hammertone would be pretty tough as well.

I want to hide the seem where I welded in the quarter panel

I thought that type of paint would hide it well

That's what seam sealer is for. I'm sure once you go over the welded seams with the sealer, the paint should help hide the rest.

X2 on the spatter paint. I think the hammer tone would look too glossy for a trunk.
Mich,
I agree with you there. The Hammertone might be too glossy. I think you want something with more of a matte finish for the trunk. That's where the spatter paint would come in.

I remember painting the trunk of one of my first cars, A Triumph. It came out awesome. This was 50 yrs ago. Yeah, I know, I'm an old fart.
