Have a great day. Thanks for all you do in providing us with a country that allows us to pursue our dreams.

I would also like to wish our veterans a very Happy Veteran's Day... and many thanks for the sacrifices they've made, past and present. Our prayers and best wishes are with you always.

Thank you to all of our vets and their families for you service and the sacrifices that have been made.
I was fortunate enough to be visiting a friend at Sunnybrook Hospital last night and seen a wonderful sight. Volunteers placed 30000 Canadian Flags into the ground in front of the Veterans long term care facility on the hospital grounds in a sign of respect and in effort to raise funds for the Veterans. I have to say it was pretty moving and I was humbled to see all of these people in the cold wet rain doing something so simple yet moving.

At the moment I am fuming. I was returning to work and got held up in traffic. I ( as did a few others ) stopped on the road to observe 2 mins of silence with my flashers on just before 11am. I was actually getting honked at for holding up traffic until I was joined by a CBSA Vehicle who pulled over and turned his wig-wags on. We were then joined by an OPP Patrol car who also turned his lights on but the cars kept whizzing by.

Some people just dont get it.

we call it Remembrance Day in Canada but it all means the same no matter what you call it. There is no words that can thank the men and women who gave up their lives for our freedom.

Shamefully, the US has a history of demanding 110% from it's GI's, then ignoring them later. For most of us, it's OK, we survived and we'll get by. But for those vets who need a helping hand, why must they jump through endless hoops to get the help they require? With the elections almost upon us, do you see any candidate pledging to help our vets? As far as I know, Jim Webb is the only candidate that served, and even though he is a decorated Marine from my generation, he is being ignored while clowns like Trump get all the headlines. Sad, very sad. So if you want to help a vet, hire a vet. All he really wants is a job so he can get normal again. And if he works with you but seems moody or distant, he probably has good reason. So get off his case and cut him some slack. He deserves it.

Mark,
I have to agree with you there. It's deplorable how our vets are treated. They serve our country, become injured physically and emotionally, and when they return home, they're virtually forgotten...or treated like second class citizens. They're subjected to long waits for health care from our VA system.
I can go on and on, but I won't.
