have quick question about posi rear end.......

Take the cover off & on the carrier gears, it will be stamped with two numbers such as 41 & 11. Divide the two numbers, which equals 3.73. When u spin one wheel, the other should turn the same direction.

Here's some posi pics, notice the clutches in between the carrier. The first pic is a governor lock locker posi unit. I'm not sure what the rear end your looking at is out of, but it should have one of the three types pictured below.

Been doing the same shopping. Noticed reference to "carrier" series. It seems to refer to the posi housing itself. If you look at jegs gears for G bodies, you'll notice the same 3:43 gears applying to 2 different carrier series. Have seem the 2:53, 2:73, and 3:08 referred to as "B" series. "C" series seems to apply to lower gear numbers. Good luck.
