What it the correct adjustments on headlight seems like mines are to high up . Should they be facing the ground

I like to adjust mine in the following manner

Find a low-traffic street at night
Position the car in the center of your normal lane
Aim them so the pool of light hits the ground on your side of the centerline, aimed slightly to the right. I like mine a few car lengths out. Most people have them too close to the car for my taste.
If you go too high, you won't be able to see the light pool on the street, or people will be brighting you

I find aiming against a wall to be too random
 
What I do:
If it has a sharp cutoff, aim the lights 2” below the height of the center of the headlight at a distance of 25ft
If it’s a bubble pattern, do your best at having the top of the bubble level to the top of the headlight.
