1981 Malibu: Manual A/C control. No light . Where is the dial light located? My shop manual says it's a 194 bulb. Does it use the twist-in socket, or fit direct. A picture would be a big help. I'm getting too old to crawl around under the dash, but I really would like to get the light working.
Thanks to all.

on my GP i have to take the box out to change the bulb. Mine looking at the control box it's on the left side in the back and it twists into place.

Thanks, That's what I was afraid of. I found a pic of the backside of a control on E-bay. Looks like a socket of some kind is needed for a 194 bulb. Is that something a local "HELP" section might have? Still looking for a way to brighten up the whole dash cluster.

the incandescent bulbs lose brightness over time so a new set of bulbs may give you the brightness that you want. You can change them to led bulbs but you'll lose the ability to dim the dash. To get around the no dimming issue Autometer has an interface so you can dim the led lights...
