When the 2.8 craps out I plan on building my first engine, hopefully a 350. I actually want to keep the 700r4, but I know I'll need a different one since the bolt pattern is different. I've already swapped in a 3.42 rear end from a newer blazer with discs.

You'll need a dif trans

Welcome to the forum from Louisville, as Texas82GP said, nice rides! I've always liked the boxy S series trucks, my brother has an 89 S10 thats been lowered, tinted, and rolling on my old centerlines....has the iron duke in it. If he wasn't such a slacker he coulda had an sbc in it.
I have an 87 cutlass as seen in my avatar that I've owned since 2001.

This is a great site btw, lots of great guys and knowledge floating around.
