help is needed asap

im hvn fuel problems...my 85 grandprix has an mr gasket fuel pump on it and wen i turn the fuel pump on i can hear it but its not feeding gas to the motor....i really need help i jus put motor an transmission in this car....nvr drove the car is it beginnin to b a headace

Disconnect the fuel line at the carb, does it pump out gas? If not, check at the back. Could be blocked fuel line (especially if it was open for a while) or could be a bad pump. I have gotten brand new ones that didn't work.

If it's an electric fuel pump like the holleys it might need to be rebuilt if possible. I know the holley ones can be rebuilt. Otherwise it might be installed backwards and the pump is pushing the gas back into the tank. Accidentaly did that on one of my friends drag cars and when he brought it to the track and it wouldn't start it took us forever to figure out what it was. Everyone still makes fun of me for putting it on backwards and it's been 3 years.

see i was told tht the it ran before an that wen it did it acted like it wanted to cut off...guy said he thought it was the module in the distributor but thats not im thinkn fuel line is clog or somethng but wit an electric fuel pump do u hve to hve a regulator in order for the pumpp to pump fuel to the carb

Here's the solution take off the mr gasket fuel pump and get another one with a name other than mr gasket and your on the way

the funny thng is i thought the same thing wen i seen it the first time....imma jus put my mechanical pump bck on until i can order one or sumdn...
