Just put a motor in my cutlass & every time I put it in gear the car cut off my idle is fine

Well just put a olds 350 in my cutlass wit a th400 the motor runs good at idle soon when I put it in drive the car dies

Yes the transmission modulator vacuum line should be hooked up. If its just sittin not hooked up it will be throwing continuous vacuum out the hose and may cause the car to die or stall. Make sure all vacuum lines are connected and if they are, it could be as little as playin around with the idle set screw on the carb.
