Hello, I'm 19 years old and have been reading stuff on the forum for about a year now and decided it was time to start contributing. My first car was a 79 Cutlass Supreme my dad got me when I was 15 for a project car. We paid 400 for it complete and running. Started out with the 260 Olds (what a slug that was). Swapped that out to an 85 307 roller motor, painted it midnight blue with silver racing stripes. Still have it, But I have not driven it in about 2 years. I'll post pictures of that car when I get it out of storage this summer (I'm planning on driving it again) .Right now I'm working on a 78 Cutlass. Sorry I don't have pictures of the way it was when I got it. To describe it, lets see, it was urine yellow and where the vinyl top connected to the drive side sail panel was almost completely rotted away. It had a 327 (yes a Chevy motor!) and a TH-350 behind it with the 7.5 open rear end (why even bother?). I paid 300 for the car and had to give the motor, transmission, wheel+tires back as part of the deal. The frame is very solid. Things have changed since I have registered to this site. I have decided to not build the 406, instead i'm in the process of building a 355 right now. TRW dome pistons (10.75:1) with Edelbrock Performer RPM cylinder heads Summit Air Gap style intake (I'm dong this on a budget i have 300 dollars in the heads, 0 in the block and crank, and about 170 in the rods) and a Comp 292H cam. Should be around 400 horsepower. The 355 will be pulled out in a year or two, and in it's place will sit a 496 big block Chevrolet (over 600 horse). I have also installed a 8 pt roll bar and have made my own ac delete. For a transmission I am running a 68 TH400 with a 3000 stall and a 9 inch ford with a 4.11 gear. This project should be on the road here in the spring after tax returns. I have posted some pictures of the interior with the roll bar installed and I'm sorry for not taking pictures along the way. I regret it everyday. the pictures of the car are the first pictures i have ever taken of it. In case you are wondering the seats are Summit brand, with a console out of a 70-81 camaro/firebird and the B&M Megashifter to fit. Also the interior was a light tan covered and packed with mouse droppings.

Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure.

In case you were wondering, YES, I did all this work myself, the motor, the body/paint, it's in a Grey primer with blacked out trim and thats how it's staying, the interior and the roll bar (it even surprises me when I look at it). My dad helps but it's more like supervision and an extra hand (He did most of the work on the first one). I'm only 19 and I have a very strong love for cars. I read, read, read and read some more on forums like this one and listen to advice others give me. Any questions feel free to ask. And please criticism IS welcome! You can learn a great deal from it.

I will also post more pictures along the way, probably every weekend. (My dad and my work schedules are completely different so the only time we can work on it is Saturdays and Sundays unless we take vacation together)

Looks decent, but why do you have the roll cage, and racing seats, but only the stock seat belts? :D

There are no harnesses installed because until the 496 is in it's just a mild street car, and the harnesses aren't street legal from what I was told. I will put harnesses in in the future, but for now I'll leave them out.
