High/Low beam switch

The high/low toggle on my turn signal switch broke the other day. i still had lights, but couldn't switch to high beams. Today i don't have headlights at all. I'm wondering if its because there might not be contact in the switch, like its stuck between high and low. if i pull the lever back i do have lights tho, not sure if high or low.

Does anyone have a writeup on replacing the switch? Thanks guys.

My final thing was I replaced the switch that is at the end of the steering column. It would no longer "click" into a position. Cheap like 12 dollar switch at any autoparts store

turns out its my dimmer switch. i'm gonna repair and upgrade in one step and convert to the newer style switch with flash to pass. hopefully i can get it done this weekend.
