yah, i ended up getting another car in 2003 due to fuel prices spiking. It's only driven when its not raining or snowing. in the last 2 years i think i put about 3 or 4 k on it being ive been doing a lot more work to it
I have had my 87 LS since late September of 2011 and to date have driven it less than 300 miles. spent the first 6 months pulling old drive train, prepping sudo rebuilt drive train,
many upgrades added to car inside and out, installing drive train, installing exhaust side pipes ( nightmare), dealing with issues with new drive train, Pulling old drive train, Installing new GM performance crate motor, Just fired up for the first time today. also spent the last 3 weeks on this exhaust as well.
Everything is holding together, oil pressure is steady at 45 to 60 psi. much smoother. no leaks, but, the same hesitation
I was getting with the old motor is still showing it's ugly head. I think it's the carb 1406 EB.
Symptom = miss or hesitation at cruise RPM or light throttle. Just a bit of bog when taking off. Get into the pedal and all is good to go. . set initial timing at -10 BDTC and all in is 30 @ 3000 rpm . Specs for the motor is 32 @ 3000 rpm.
Idle at 650 in gear 750 in park.
I'm rocking 440,000 km's on mine. Still doing well, except for some rustyness on the rear frame in the usual places. Third engine, second transmission. Engines and transmissions were running fine, but they were too slow so I had to keep building newer faster engines 😉
i;m on my 7th G body but the one i had the lomgest and did the most to had 2 engines and a 350 trans had that 4yrs and a daily driver and it went everywhere about 280k when i sold it a Big BIG B I G mistake
