Lately Ive been having high oil pressure. The guage I have is not numbered just lines to indicate percentage. When I turn the car on and drive the guage goes all the way to about 75%, when Im at a stop it drops to about 50% or so. I bought a 100 psi guage today and will install later to see what the correct pressure is. My question is are the 1986 231 V6's prone to high oil pressure? I havent had this problem until recently and I am trying to figure this out. Does anyone know what the correct pressure should be at idle and when running? Any help would be apprecitated.

it could be the sending unit....and a sending unit is only about $20 and easy to replace so if it was me I'd try that first

buicks have low pressure compared to chevy's so if it's just under 40 dont be alarmed.
x2 My buick turbo motor only has 15 psi hot at idle and around 50 when getting into gas
