Any body ever heard of this? I haven't seen it on a g-body, but the idea sounds like it might work, especially if the frame is a little rotted on top? what do you think? A little too back yard or what?

We used them on our G body circle track cars. They had a rule we needed rubber mounts and hockey pucks are the closest and cheapest thing to a solid mount.

We use them on trucks all the time.

Hockey pucks run $1.49 at my local hockey shop, you can probably find them online cheaper. The poly OEM style kits run around $100-$150.

LOL I have 2 holding down my rad support as the originals were rotted when I bought the car. The trick is to chuck them into a lathe and take off the excess on the bottom so they will fit in the frame and not slide around on top of it and to re-use the metal sleeve. If you look at a set of mounts it probably makes more sense.

hmmm I got one on the right rear wheel well that the top of the frame is rotted a little, just made the hole bigger on top and the bolt is gone. Maybe I can cut one down and use it as a washer in the frame and the put a whole puck in between body and frame. The banging sound when I go over bumps is getting REALLY annoying, and with the weather changing I want to replace the back six asap.

Just buy the solid mounts from JT Racecraft for $140 like I did. Perfect fit and you don't have to worry about them breaking like I imagine pucks will over time.

x2...the G body circle track cars we used hockey pucks on only raced once a week plus maybe a couple of dozen practice laps during the week and the body was stripped so it would be alot lighter than a street car

Pucks are built to take that kind of repeated stress and often just crack apart. Other issuse is pucks compress more than even factory bushings, making it impossible to torque the body mount bolts to spec.
