Good lord. And I thought me asking 3k for my regal when it ran was a bit much.

So it didn't sell for $19,000 (big surprise there) and has been relisted for $500 less.
So another 20+ re-listings from now it should be at a more reasonable price.

$19,000? Everything with cars is like this now. This is a really neat car. Used to be commonplace and otherwise not really desirable, but now rare. The person in possession of it has no intention of using this car or fixing it up to it's potential(like we would). Like NO intention. So he's going to slap it online for a disgusting amount of money in hopes some dude out there who just inherited 1.5 million bucks is going to go ham over this absurd, rare, brown station wagon.

Look at this Monte Carlo near me.

Nearly identical car as mine. Same motor and everything. This guy started at $9,500 and he's down to $8,200. This car is advertised EVERYWHERE on the internet. Even sites I didn't know existed. Just hoping some nostalgic nut comes through with 9 grand when the car, despite $8,000 in upgrades, the car is only for 4k on a good day.

Boy, you're being nice at only 20 re-ups! I was thinking more like 35. He bought that car in November for less than $2k. It was on the Eau Claire, WI Craigslist for a few weeks at that time. He's trying to do a quick flip for 10X what he paid for it! Not realistic at all. If someone offered him $3k-$4K he should jump on it.

I think the biggest issue with this seller is this is an auction sale and the starting bid is already higher than what anyone would pay for a "buy it now" price so they should keep the reserve high and let people actually bid on it to see what kind of interest there is and what people are willing to spend IMO.

Yeah, they've got it backwards. I think the fees are higher with the high opening bid amount too.

The guy is accounting for time (aka. labour) in his price, which is a sunk cost.
