Hood clearance issues, time for a junkyard fix

I don't know if you guys have the underhood temps in Canada that we have in Florida. It can be so hot. The fact that it is a black car doesn't help. Just giving the engine ambient air is supposedly worth 1% or 2% HP

We usually hit around 95 in the summer, but here that's only about 2 months haha, I can imagine the difference is noticeable down there

Great looking hood, and that cold air intake is genius

Not my idea, I read about joining two Chevy truck air cleaners on the web somewhere. It serves the same purpose as the fancy aftermarket ones - - for much less cash.

Its been a year and a half and no cracks, rust or other issues so far.
