I'd love too, but my car just isn't done yet. I'd rather have it looking nice, new paint, sound system, wheels, tires, etc. Oh, and exhaust.
Thanks for the pep talk, but my car is a LONG ways off from being able to drive that whole shebang, and race. Worn out suspension, no exhaust, busted *ss radio, bald tires (tee hee), etc. Paint can wait, but I gotta make it safe and reliable first. Aint gonna be stuck 800 miles from home.I did a Long Haul in 2011 and two stops in 2015, both in my unrestored, but modified 67 Olds Vista Cruiser. I was registered to go last year when I partially tore my rotator cuff, so had to cancel my plans. Some of the coolest cars you will see are unfinished or weathered. Don't underestimate the pleasure and satisfaction you will receive when you see some shiny, checkbook car broken down on the roadside and you pull off to render aid. Go. You won't regret it. Just make sure all your maintenance is done.
