Ok..........I have an eddy performer rpm cam ..specs are 234/244 duration with 488/510" ...I'm thinking of putting a bigger bumpstick in my motor to make more power, hey I wanna go faster,....anyways...Before I call my engine guy....Just curious as to what's the biggest and best cam I can run with 93 Octane fuel......Also I have dart pro-1 heads with dual springs........

I had a comp cam with 252/254 duration with 106 lobe seperation 534/555 lift motor had 11.5 to 1 and i ran 93 with no problems on the street motor went 11.7 all day I had this cam in my 383 which is the motor that went 11.7 with dart iron eagle 215 heads. I also had the same cam in my 406 that went 11.52

I like Lunati or a custom grind. I think you have the right amount of duration but could benefit from more lift and a better overall grind. IMO more duration will likely have you end up with a car/engine that may be slightly faster at the drag strip but that you don't like to drive as well as what you have now. Same with regards to centerline. Then again there are others that are more knowledgeable about cams then I. Just keep in mind that most build race motors and think of a "street car" in terms of street light to street light and not jump in it and drive the Power Tour. Have you maximized your rocker ratio? Also have you matched & flowed your intake & heads and or even carb what you can as a package? More cam usually is not the best way to get more power out of a particular build just all to often the cheapest & easiest short term solution or route to a power only goal.
