I'm trying to change the kikdown or detent cable on th350 trans..The th350 is already in the car and cooling lines make it hard to get at..can I do it by pulling the pan off???

Yes you can take the pan off if you need to. You could also jack up the pan and remove the crossmember and lower the trans slightly without breaking anything and take it out that way as well.

So how do I get the cable to release...what do u do after u pull da pan...how so I hook da new one in....if I lower trans I gotta take hard cooling lines off take crossmember and drive shaft out if I can do it without doing everything again ill just do that

There's a lever in the trans and a small rod attached to that, and then hooked on the rod is the cable. So drop the pan, take the bolt off the cable, and then stretch the cable and you'll see it pretty clearly.
