how much thicker of a headgasket do i need?

since the engine is new I'd run as many hot laps as you can and see if that drops the compression a bit...I'd also do something with your valve covers to release the crankcase pressure your going to build up...

I wouldn't do that, whats the worst killer of an engine HEAT! If yer gonna do that ya may as well take the oil out while yer doin it hahahhahahahhahha.

One thing I do agree with is that u will have a great deal of crankcase pressure because after the rings r fried all yer compression will be in the oil pan, ya won't even be able to keep a dipsitck in er. lol

by hot laps I didn't mean to overheat the engine....but with a 22 lbs cap we have run it at 240 without it washing the windsheild.....and lower crankcase pressure is important, some race engines have pumps to remove the crankcase pressure
