I have an 80 malibu, do you have to remove the door window glass in order to change the outer door sweeps? I know the window does not roll down far enough to remove the sweeps. Someone said there is a way to lower the window further so you can remove the sweep. Is there an easier way than removing the glass?

I did mine not long ago. Lower the window stop all the way. (Mark the location) it is in the center of the door at the bottom. I'm assuming your door panel is off. Then lower the window. That should give you just enough room to get the screws out. The inner sweeps will need to be removed by carefully pulling the staples. You will have to drill holes and use rivets to attach your new ones.

I had to remove the lower window stop to allow the window to drop down another inch to be able to access the retaining screws for the sweeps. Simple job overall though

Thanks for the help! I found exactly what you guys were talking about. Mine was at the lowest setting I had to remove it to lower the window. Should be a simple install from here on out
