What intake, exhaust, carb, gearing, etc are you running?

I’m not understanding the viability to check while in engine and hookup. Quite extensive info though.

Inspectors at racetracks for asphalt circle tracks have a program on their computers and and a sensor they use so the computer can check the the lobes to see if we had changed the cam in a sealed 602 or 604 gm crate engine. They program had the stock profiles on the computer and they would check 2 or 3 lobes to see if they matched the stock profile for the cam that was supposed to be in the car.

You can degree the cam without pulling a ton of crap other than the driver side valve cover and swapping in a checker spring on both valves on #1 cylinder. Of course, you need to get a degree wheel on the crank, verify TDC, have a magnetic base dial indicator and be able to adjust the valve to zero lash. Other than that, it's a piece of cake.

With that in mind, I'm with 500/600 - leave it alone and run it.

Excellent, thank you.
