How to remove clock turner knob?

There's a small female threaded screw fastener inside the outer knob....be careful they are quite small and like to disappear if you drop it

What kind of screw driver did you use to take it out

If that is a picture of yours...I can see the screw in the center....I have a few small flat screwdrivers here that fit that inner screw and that's what I use. You should be able to use something like a jewelers screwdriver. If you cut the shaft you won't be able to set the clock very easily.

I have a few knobs and inner screws if you end up needing...

here's a close up of how it goes together...

the shaft has two flats that correspond with flats in the knob...that's how you set the clock...the end of the shaft is threaded and that's what the small screw fastener screws onto..

If you don't have the correct size to fit you can grind down a cheap flathead screwdriver to get in there.

dollar store eyeglass kit will have the screwdriver you are looking for. And yes they do like to go missing 🙁
