More silly sh*t:

I can see Holley doing the same thing. Is MegaSquirt publicly traded? I think I see an investment opportunity..

I dunno? But, this guy could use some investors:

Can't watch the videos at this moment, but I was thinking: in this day and age of mad boost on virtually everything on the road, why would a company that pretty much pioneered GM tuning in OBD2 stop at 2.5 bar? It seems to me that it's just a few lines of code to keep the masses happy. It's almost as if they're following the Photobucket business model.

Okay here is why this thread above is so significant. I was chasing an issue with the propane injection system on my TBSS for a few months, so during that phase I turned it off and tuned it out. Keep in mind that the propane system acts as a 9th injector and adds about 20% additional fuel to the engine - which reduces the demands on Injector Duty Cycle (IDC). Unbeknownst to me at the time I built this truck that this system was saving my *ss in more ways than one. Long and short of it is that without the ability to turn off Brake Torque Management (BTM) in HP Tuners (only available in EFI Live) the truck was bandaided by this additional fuel as it altered/lowered the calculated torque. When BTM kicks in it pulled over 10* of timing, to the point there was negative timing under load/at WOT and IDC is 94% - calculated torque flat-lines at 738ft/lbs. This effectively causes the truck to fall flat on it's face.

Now let's turn the propane injection back on. IDC drops by 22%, spark stays as programmed, and calculated torque is 200ft/lbs lower; and the engine revs out naturally. It is important to note that the MAF is reading much lower (again a consistent 20% error) with the supplemental fuel system activated - this is where the torque calculation comes from. So the reality is the engine is flowing 4800lb/h, not 3800lb/h.

Thanks for the help, HP Tuners.

Here's an epic video explaining the pros/cons of different types of ECU/software. Funny how the OEM stuff has the right features just limited, basic aftermarket systems like Holley are very distilled, and high-end aftermarket systems are a much more purposeful hybrid. Discussion happens around the 17 minute mark.

Also, awesome turbo Buick V6 sounds.
