Is there no table you can manipulate to stop this from happening?

Okay here is why this thread above is so significant. I was chasing an issue with the propane injection system on my TBSS for a few months, so during that phase I turned it off and tuned it out. Keep in mind that the propane system acts as a 9th injector and adds about 20% additional fuel to the engine - which reduces the demands on Injector Duty Cycle (IDC). Unbeknownst to me at the time I built this truck that this system was saving my *ss in more ways than one. Long and short of it is that without the ability to turn off Brake Torque Management (BTM) in HP Tuners (only available in EFI Live) the truck was bandaided by this additional fuel as it altered/lowered the calculated torque. When BTM kicks in it pulled over 10* of timing, to the point there was negative timing under load/at WOT and IDC is 94% - calculated torque flat-lines at 738ft/lbs. This effectively causes the truck to fall flat on it's face.

Now let's turn the propane injection back on. IDC drops by 22%, spark stays as programmed, and calculated torque is 200ft/lbs lower; and the engine revs out naturally. It is important to note that the MAF is reading much lower (again a consistent 20% error) with the supplemental fuel system activated - this is where the torque calculation comes from. So the reality is the engine is flowing 4800lb/h, not 3800lb/h.

Thanks for the help, HP Tuners.

As previously mentioned, not in HP Tuners only in EFI Live (and that would require double licensing). HP Tuners could add it - but refuse to.

FWIW I've found a video online showing how to disable the BTM. He just posted it 3 days ago (According to the dude it works anyhow)

After reading this couldn't you just Zero out the fields in TM tables? I think you are speaking of the Torque Management not the actual BRAKE Torque Management that is active when you are on the brakes. (Ex: Won't allow you to power brake)

Wrong PCM and OS.

This particular problem is very specifically laid out and resolved in the tbssowners.com thread. The only way to do it is modify the OS with EFI Live.

Hmmm, out of curiosity, what's happening in the C-do? Got any solids, or just butt dyno?

Minor stuff really. Compensation for the intake (this thing is so loud you don't need an aftermarket exhaust), ported throttle body, commanded torque at low speeds (for a better pedal feel), adjusted TCC lock up, shift points, fuel type (spark), power enrichment (leaned out a hair), and adjusting the VVT at WOT - so the basics. It makes for a really nice drive compared to stock. It has some other routine mods for driveability and style too.

It is at over 70K miles now.
