Chineesium (those people are destroying this country behind your back... BTW)
"those" people aren't the only nationality destroying this country. America is currently for sale to the highest bidder. Japan owns a major toll rode in Indiana and Mexico owns the I-35 toll road through Texas. What about India, Korea, Taiwan, the Phillipeans...check the tags on your clothes and electronics. Most importantly, don't forget about the AMERICANS who put hundreds of thousands of fellow Americans on unemployment for cheaper labor elsewhere just so they can raise the value of their company's stocks by a percent or two.

Not trying to start a debate or hijack this thread, I just can't remain silent after reading a statement like that.

Having quality grade steel used and MADE IN AMERICA would be awesome.
...no one in this country has the capital or the will to get off their *ss anymore... pretty sad.
Agreed... 😢
Careful my man....some people on this site will want to debate with you about this. My advice...keep it parts related or take it to the off topic board. ask me how I know....

Are you aware that most raw material costs for the rocker panels is approx $5

This is domestice Manufacturers here not China stuff.

Yes, but the tooling costs are what really impacts the part price, along with the relatively low production runs. If you're GM and building several hundred thousand and/or million units over the production run, it's a lot easier to amortize that investment. Most people do not realize that a stamped (pressed) sheetmetal part may have been through 5 or more stampings, each with a seperate set of dies,to create the finished part. Starting to see where the problem lies?

A few years ago, I was heavily into a different brand of car. Everyone bitched about the lack of decent headers for it. There were cheap (~$150)headers, but the design left MUCH to be desired (one primary pipe runs UNDER the front crossmember, and they do not fit manual trans cars). A different manufacturer had made headers for the car in the past, but had ceased production due to low demand, and was not interested in even a limited run. That particular style have been known to bring over $200 USED, and I saw an NOS set go over $350. As it happened, a member of the community was HEAVILY involved in the Ford Lightning performance aftermarket and had access to a fabricator that could and would (using said Lightning guy's personal car for a testbed) build a small run of equal-length headers for the car. The cost for a set was set at between $400-$450, and the Lightning guy wasn't really making anything on them, he was doing it for the love of the cars and the hobby. Guess how many of the people that were bitching stepped up....absolutely none. Too expensive they all cried. So today, they buy ill-fitting 1.5" primary pipe hedders that have to be extensively modified for actual real street use, and still b*tch that there are no decent headers available. Go figure :blam:

I guess my point is that things like full floorpans are more likely to be reproduced (which it appears they are) because the cost can be spread over more units than items that have a very small demand due to being model specific.

engine dress up kit?

The moneys in, door strap inserts (the tiny little squares) you could manufacture those relatively cheaply and even offer them with various designs like chevy, olds, pontiac emblems. Also probably some door handle things that you could glue in like in the pic below you could also make different designs.

the good thing about these two things is that you wont have to have a major amount of money invested because there both plastic and can be cheaply made. If I had the money, time and resources guess what I would be selling. hope my idea helps, and I better get some for free

ok, I am working with the best of the best in the best in the usa with sheetmetal. I am having the doors reproduced 1st. then we willl go from there??????

How about trunk floor parts, and inner/outer wheelhouses?
