It looks like this post got started by Tobyp back in 2011 & I'm not sure if anything has been made yet in the good old USA. Due to a careless driver I need a passenger door & tailgate for my 1980 GMC Caballero. Its same as a El Camino. I'm going after market for the inner & quarter panels for both sides but looking for a RUST FREE door & tailgate. I'm in the South Boston, VA area Michael (434) 579-2221

First, I just want to say, "Thank You" for doing this for all G-body owners. Frankly, I hope you kick the $h!+ out all of those other Chi-Com companies. I have ALWAYS been "Buy American."

My complaint about a lot of aftermarket parts is exactness. If someone (a company) is going to copy something, then copy it exactly. If it doesn't fit or work like the original, what good is it? An example is the rear bumper I bought for my El Camino. The steel is thinner and the chrome is a little bumpy. I don't know about the fit yet, but, it is not equal to the quality of OEM.

I wish you all the luck in the world with this. Maybe you'll make something for my car in the future.

The catalogs have Malibu/Elco grilles for 1978-1988 EXCEPT 1980. I know the 1981 version would physically fit, but I am not a fan.

The G body is in that difficult place where GM has discontinued spares, but demand hasn't ramped up to feed a broad aftermarket. Hooray for Toby for attempting to find those parts where there is enough demand and margin to make reproduction worthwhile.

Thanks!

Just ordered a couple small parts from GBF. Thanks for what you have done for the cars and the people who love them. One day we will be able build a complete car from a book.

One suggestion, 79' Malibu headlight trim? I have only seen the one side sold and they want crazy money for them. They don't have to be out of the same OEM material either, pot metal, aluminum, plastic whatever you can get

Some stuff for us grand prix guys would be awesome trunk lid, doors, rockers, everything
Yes still waiting :!: That would be nice.
Gbarrie. 😀
And a lot of us have 78-80 Grand Prix, which probably have some of the simplest possible panel lines of all of the G's, which would make them super easy to reproduce. Just sayin'.

1/4 patch panels would be great.
