? i just picked up a 200-r4

i just called a transmission shop and this guy just told me the 200r4 will not match up with a sbc

What bellhousing does it have? A 200-4R came with a couple different bolt patterns and they came stock on some sbc's i.e the Monte Carlo SS. If it doesnt fit a sbc then you have the BOP bolt pattern.

i have a BOP, is there an adapater?

I was under the assumption that all 2004r transmissions came with dual pattern bell housings. I havent seen a BOP only transmission bell housing since the mid to late 70's....learn something new everyday... :lol:

can you post a pic of the trans? Yes...there are adapters for BOP-CHEVY and Chevy to BOP....

short is 6", long is 8". I think thats what it is. I no someone will correct me if im wrong.

there are 3 different sizes of th350 tail housing 6", 9", and 12"

if your th350 has the 6" tail housing you will be fine to swap on a 200r4. dont forget to get the 200r4 trans xmember aswell.

THats a BOP bell housing.....and no, it will not fit a chevy engine without an adapter....
