I kinda understand in 1978 when people had 15X10's sticking 3" out of the fender because nobody made wheels with proper backspace (I guess nobody had a tape measure at Cragar or Keystone wheels because I've never seen a car that can take 7" of wheel past the axle flange) but that is inexcusable these days for anything but a dirt cheap drag car.
And he is doing the agricultural thing, running the tread pattern in reverse makes it shed mud better and increases tire life 🙂
