Pick something that will lead to a well paying career or its just not worth it. Do some research on what pays best and also consider what you enjoy. Try to get a job doing what you are going to school for as an apprentice. If you work hard and have the discipline to string together enough good decisions you will succeed and have plenty of money to do the things you want. It just takes some time and perserverence.
Yep. I may end up working at EFCO with my dad. Efco makes concrete forms and framework for commercial buildings and what not. My dad is a general maintenance technician there doing anything from painting to repairing multi million dollar laser cutters. Just as a janitor I'd be making almost 20 an hour. Seems like a good start to me.

Oh I've been pulled over loads of times. This was the first time for an actual reason and first ticket.
Me too and many times I should have been busted but didnt. Like I said, pay it and move on. It's alot easier to get over an expired license than a suspended one.

True that. I know plenty of people that should've and have been barred for driving a long time ago. It makes their lives a living hell. Plus, if I ever get suspended or barred, well I guess there won't me much of a reason to go on living is there? what is life without cars? I mean, I guess I could get a moped...

maybe you want to think about that before you do this again...

On a non-descript day in the distant or near present past, I may or may not have exceeded the reccomended speed limit coming back from selling a pair of slicks to a fine fellow with a bracket nova. Anyway, I was in third (drive), engine screaming at 4700 rpm with 195/75r/14 tires and 2.41 gears. Speedo was waaaayy buried. I let off the gas, didn't touch the brakes, and it took a solid 10 seconds at least for the needle to pop back to 85mph.[/QUOTE

I don't know what the penalties in your area are for doing double the speed but where I am you at roadside you lose your car for one week and your licence for one week. After that week it's $170 to get your licence reinstated and around $900 for the impound fees. Then the court can fine you up to $10,000 and suspend your licence for 6 months and it's possible you spend some time in jail. Plus you have 6 demerit points, another 6 you get suspended again. And then after it's all done you can expect your insurance company to drastically raise your rates if they don't refuse to insure you.

I know, I know. I had the opportunity, and I took it. Will I do it again? 99% of me says no. BUt that other 1% will always be in the back of my mind. I've done it once, so that is enough for me for now.

you would have had fun if you grew up 40 years ago. Back in the early 80's I got clocked at 142 mph and the cop didn't even try to chase me. He knew my car and where I was going, he showed up at the bar I bartended at and told me how fast I was going. I told him thanks and I won't let anyone borrow my car again....😎

Since it was a balmy SIX degrees outside, -15 wind chill, I decided to get a ride upto the DMV. In an out in 15 minutes and 33.50 poorer. Got my unrestricted license. Good till 2025. No one was in there. It's like going to school or work after hours. It was really quiet and just odd.
