I purchased a posi carrier and cannot seem to find the casting numbers anywhere, online :? I will let the pictures do the talking:

btw, the casting number (on the side of the case) 057 M16 07

...and go

My guess would be an auburn posi unit. Looks very similar to the one I have. The ring and pinion should have numbers to ID the gear ratio.

I just did the 'ole tooth count and some simple division to find the gear ratio of the gears that were included with the unit (the yoke was even included)

The fella that sold it to me thought it was an Auburn unit and I was thinking that was their emblem, but I couldn't find any supporting information from the casting number, so I just wanted to get some pictures on here and see what y'all thought. I haven't ever seen a center "clip" like that :|

btw, the 4.11 ring & pinion that was included is for sale for $100 oBo (used, but great condition)

WoW ... crazy thing here, I google'd auburn posi images and came up with plenty of images of Auburn posi units that look identicle, same logo and little center "clip" (that I have never seen) :blam:

It's an Auburn, there is no key way for a clutch pack, and it's 7.5" , you can tell by the small pinion gears. It's a standard series with the yellow springs. The pro series has red springs, higher spring rate

According to Auburn, standard springs are not colored, yellow are high performance, and red are pro series....just fyi

The engine is just over 400hp

I don't like the small pinion gears in the 7.5" auburn. They broke on mine with about the same power you have. The pinion gears on the auburn are quite a bit smaller than the pinion gears on an open rear.
